“I attempt to get as close as possible to my limit and,
calmly and with heaps of determination,
try to keep pushing that limit a little further away:
like a journey that never ends, a wonderful infinite adventure.”

Freeskiing is an approach to skiing that incorporates various disciplines, involving both fresh snow and the snowpark.
Freestyle skiing is predominantly found in snowparks: slopes designed specifically for snowboarders and newschool skiers and featuring various structures, including kickers, halfpipes and rails (metal tubes to slide down).
Freeride skiing, meanwhile, takes place away from pre-prepared slopes, and involves jumping without any supporting structures and forging tracks through fresh snow.
It is one of the most popular winter sports in America, and it became an Olympic event at the Sochi games in 2014. 'I have tried many different sports, and I continue to do so, but I never experience the incredible passion and infinite obsession that I do when I'm skiing. It almost feels as though skiing chose me, and not the other way around. Most skiers decide to focus on one of these two disciplines, but I can't bear to give up either the fresh snow or the snowpark'.

The 2015/16 winter season ended in June, and I have been training over the summer break, away from the snow, to regain my fitness. Now, in August, I am heading to the glaciers of Switzerland and France.
