We offer high-definition printing on a wide range of materials, allowing you to create labels that are perfectly aligned with your brand identity and suitable for use in professional production processes.
Sticker roll formats
Pixartprinting aims to offer as many customisation options as possible so that you have full control over the final product. One of the ways in which you can personalise the sticker roll is by shape and size. There are three pre-defined shapes to choose from, for which you can enter your preferred dimensions:
- Circle: enter the diameter in the width field
- Square: enter the length of the sides in the width field
- Rectangle: enter the measurements in the width and height fields
- Oval: enter the measurements in the width and height fields
We also offer many predefined formats for your roll labels, including square labels with rounded corners, rectangular labels with rounded corners, scalloped adhesive labels, adhesive seals and double seals, giving you even more ways to tailor the product to your packaging and application needs.
For a more complex assignment, use our custom sticker roll format option. We provide custom stickers between 1 cm x 1 cm and 30 cm x 30 cm in size, with short print runs available.
Classic roll labels can also be configured for use with labelling machines. In addition to size and shape, you can choose the winding direction in relation to the roll, the gap between labels and the roll height, allowing you to receive labels tailored to your production process.
Custom printed labels on a roll - materials
Custom stickers can be applied to most stationery products as well as interior and exterior structures. Our range also includes custom printed waterproof labels. With our easy-to-use online order form, you can customise your promotional stickers in the UK to include all the aspects needed for your project.
Our customisable stickers fall into two main categories: acrylic stickers and self-adhesive paper. The specific materials available for acrylic stickers are as follows:
- Deluxe White Polypropylene: high-quality white stickers with a scratch- and UV-resistant gloss coating. Suitable for outdoor use.
- Deluxe Transparent Polypropylene: as above but transparent stickers.
- Deluxe Silver Polypropylene: as above but silver stickers.
- Transparent Refix Electrostatic Film: a 100% recyclable and PVC-free ultra-transparent polyester film, 125µm thick. It adheres electrostatically to any smooth surface that is clean and does not have an electrostatic charge. It can be attached and removed without leaving a residue and lasts for 2-3 years, making it ideal for windows.
Our range of plastic labels also includes additional specialist options for more demanding projects:
- White Polypropylene: glossy white polypropylene with high-transparency permanent acrylic adhesive.
- Transparent Polypropylene: glossy transparent polypropylene with high-transparency permanent acrylic adhesive. Available with reverse printing, which is useful when the label needs to be viewed from outside a glass surface.
- Metallic Holographic Polypropylene: a material with a mirror finish and holographic effect that does not alter colours and guarantees a high-impact result. It offers good adhesion and resistance to UV rays, water and oil.
There are multiple options available within the category of self-adhesive paper:
- Satin Paper: a sophisticated embossed adhesive paper with a satin look. Ideal for use in the luxury and wine sectors.
- Natural White Paper: a natural white uncoated adhesive paper, ideal for use on glass containers and for bulk orders.
- Uncoated Paper: a versatile, natural white uncoated paper for indoor use.
- Coated Paper: a coated white paper that works well on curved surfaces and packaging.
- Betulla Laid Paper: a chalk-coloured adhesive paper with a varnish that creates shine and protects it. Ideal for use in the luxury and wine sectors thanks to its elegant look and adhesion to damp surfaces.
- Removable Coated: a glossy white adhesive paper that is easy to remove and does not leave residue.
- Black Pulp-Dyed Paper: a black adhesive paper that creates a dark background for your design. Suitable for glass containers.
- Laid Greaseproof Paper: a laid adhesive paper that is coated to make it resistant to oils and fats.
- Natural Greaseproof Paper: an uncoated adhesive paper that is resistant to oils and fats so ideal for the food and beverage sectors.
We also offer a wider selection of standard, premium and barrier papers for custom classic roll labels, each with specific characteristics designed for different sectors and applications:
- Uncoated Embossed Paper: matt white paper with a fine diamond finish, uncoated. It offers excellent adhesion to various surfaces and outstanding moisture resistance, making it perfect for high-end products.
- White Waterproof Paper: pure cellulose paper treated on both sides with a coating that ensures excellent opacity and high resistance to wet and humid conditions; ideal for high-quality labels for beverages, wine and promotional uses.
- Canvas Paper: ideal for high-quality labels for wine, promotional and beverage applications. It features a rough textured surface with a refined dotted effect and excellent water resistance, making it suitable for bottles that may come into contact with water or ice.
- Hay Paper: coated self-adhesive paper with vegetable fibres, featuring a yellow-brown background and natural pulp imperfections. Ideal for eye-catching labels in the beer and spirits sector and as a complementary packaging material.
- Gold Paper: self-adhesive paper with a glossy gold metallic finish, particularly suitable for cosmetics, luxury products or food packaging applications.
- White Wet-Strength Hammered Paper: a highly water-resistant barrier paper designed for labelling wine or beer bottles immersed in ice buckets or jars stored in refrigerated environments.
- Extra-White Wet-Strength Paper: premium natural paper with very high whiteness to enhance colour reproduction. Its barrier structure makes it extremely resistant to water, ice and temperature changes.
- White Natural Felt-Effect Paper: suitable for high-quality labels for wine, beverages and glass-bottled products. The barrier structure provides excellent resistance to water, ice and temperature changes and helps prevent wrinkles and bubbles.
- 100% Cotton Wet-Strength Paper: barrier paper made from 100% cotton. It enhances tactile feel and resists water, ice and high-humidity conditions. Recommended for labelling wines, spirits, oils and glass-bottled products, but not suitable for bottle neck labels or small-diameter curved surfaces due to its stiffness.
All our round stickers come with anti-scratch veneer labellife 3 as standard which safeguards your stickers and prevents scratches. The label cutting method for custom printed labels on a roll is kiss cut with the backing left on for ease of use.
For transparent materials, we recommend selecting the white ink option to ensure optimal print results. When using selective white, your artwork file should include two separate layers: one for the graphics and one indicating the areas where the white ink should be applied.
Enhance your stickers on a roll with special finishes
Depending on which material you select for your stickers on a roll, you may have the option to add a special finish. Pixartprinting offers a choice of three special finishes for roll labels, each of which are only applied to specific areas of the print to make them stand out:
- Selective varnish: this extra-thick varnish gives the details a raised look and feel.
- Gold foil: a gold foil is digitally hot stamped onto specific areas, creating an elegant, metallic look.
- Silver foil: a silver foil is digitally hot stamped onto specific areas, creating a shiny, sophisticated effect.
Please note that you cannot add special finishes to certain materials, so please bear this in mind when selecting your material.
For some materials, you can also add lamination to improve durability and create a more refined finish. Four types of protective finishing are available, depending on the selected substrate:
- Anti-scratch varnish: protects against scratches and UV rays.
- Matt lamination: transparent protective film with a matt finish.
- Gloss lamination: transparent protective film with a glossy finish.
- Soft Touch lamination: transparent protective film with a smooth, soft-touch finish.
Additional premium effects are also available for selected materials and applications:
- 3D varnish: creates a raised effect on printed areas, giving your label a three-dimensional look that draws attention and highlights specific details of your design.
- Mirrored printing: ideal for labels applied indoors on glass surfaces so they are visible from the outside. This option is available for transparent materials.
- UV Invisible Ink: invisible to the naked eye and visible only under UV light, where it appears in a bright fluorescent yellow. It is ideal for security elements such as codes or serial numbers, or for striking graphic effects in sectors such as wine, food and beverage, and cosmetics. For best results, avoid dark backgrounds and do not cover the invisible ink with laminations or other finishes. Production time for this option is 120 hours.

How to create the artwork file for roll labels
Do you want to use your own artwork file for printing labels? You can select the “Prepare & Upload” option to complete your order and then upload your file. We recommend downloading the template with instructions from this page, as it will help you set up your PDF correctly.
Below are some important guidelines for correctly creating your artwork file:
- Colour: all files must be submitted in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) using the Fogra 39 colour profile.
- Resolution: the optimal resolution for printing files is 300 ppi.
- Format: submit your file in PDF format.
- Margins and bleeds: download the template for the product you purchased; the bleed will already be correctly set at 2 mm from the cut.
- Vector paths: vector paths must be at least 0.25 pt. If you plan a special finish on the path, it must be at least 1 pt.
- Special finishes: these must be vector-based, set to overprint, placed on a dedicated Finishing layer, and assigned the Finishing spot colour (0,50,100,0).
For custom sizes and die-cuts, you must provide a file with two separate layers: one for the artwork and one for the cut line. We recommend consulting the detailed instructions available on the product page before finalising your file.
What is the difference between paper and plastic roll labels?
The main difference between paper and plastic roll labels is that plastic labels are suitable for use outdoors. Our plastic roll labels are made from your choice of four types of polypropylene, which is a durable, resistant material that can also be used indoors. There are also mirrored options great for use on windows.
Some paper roll labels are not suitable for contact with liquid or oils, but they are a simpler, more affordable option, ideal for high volumes. However, at Pixartprinting, we have a vast selection of papers, some of which are especially designed to be resistant to oils and fats, like the Felt-Effect Greaseproof Paper, or damp conditions like the Hay Paper and the White Wet-Strength Hammered Paper. Therefore, our paper roll labels can also accommodate more complex needs, like the plastic roll labels. You’ll be spoilt for choice!
What information can I print on roll labels?
This depends on the purpose of your stickers on a roll, but the choice is yours! You have free rein to create your ideal graphics, but here are some ideas. You can add:
- Your company logo to advertise your brand
- The product name and brief description
- Eye-catching graphics to attract attention from shelves
- Your brand’s colours and fonts
- All of the above!
Our roll labels are fully customisable so you can truly tailor them to your brand and be in full control of the final result.
How to apply roll labels
Roll labels can be applied manually or automatically using professional labelling machines. For manual application, we recommend following these simple steps:
- Clean the surface: dust and dirt reduce adhesion, so make sure the surface is thoroughly clean.
- Prepare your label: take your roll of labels and position it at the desired application point.
- Apply the label: carefully peel the label from the roll backing and stick it onto the surface. Run your finger from the centre to the edges to remove any air bubbles.
If you use automated systems, remember to configure the roll according to your machine requirements, including winding direction, gap between labels and roll height.
