Food packaging labels with customisation
With Pixartprinting's wide range of options, you can produce the perfect printed food labels for your business. Whether you need labels for jars, bottles, boxes or takeaway packaging, you can configure them to match your product and application method.
- Format: to give you as much freedom as possible, you can customise the size and shape and create your ideal stickers for food packaging. There are also 9 predefined formats available. The 4 standard shapes are circular, square, oval and rectangular, while the 5 special shapes are square with rounded corners, rectangular with rounded corners, scalloped, seal and double seal. Pixartprinting also allows you to choose the measurements of your custom food labels: from a minimum of 1x1 cm to a maximum of 30x30 cm.
- Material: there are 21 options available, each with unique properties to enhance the look and performance of your labels. If you intend to use the labels for products containing oils and vegetable fats, materials such as natural greaseproof paper and felt-effect greaseproof paper are ideal. If, on the other hand, you are looking for labels suitable for specific surfaces, you can choose natural white paper, coated paper, or durable plastic materials such as polypropylene. You can also explore our full range of roll labels, paper labels and plastic labels.
- Output direction: there are four possibilities to choose from: 0°, 90°, 180° or -90°.
- Distance between the labels: the minimum distance between the labels is 0.8 cm.
- Inside diameter of the reel: 76 mm.
- Number of rolls: you can decide the number of rolls to print your custom food labels on from four options: one roll 33 cm high, two rolls 16.5 cm high, three rolls 11 cm high or six rolls 5.5 cm high.
- Label cutting method: Kiss Cut with backing left on. Only the adhesive material is cut and not the backing support, making it easy to peel off, especially with small labels.
- Coatings and lamination: choose between anti-scratch varnish, matt lamination or gloss lamination to protect your labels and improve their final appearance.
- Mirrored printing: ideal for labels applied indoors on glass surfaces so they are visible from the outside. This option is available for transparent materials.
- Selective white: white printing can be applied to specific areas of the material, either on its own or as a base for the graphics, helping colours and details stand out on transparent or metallic substrates.
- Multi-artwork: you can print up to 10 different designs in a single production run, a useful option for product lines with multiple flavours or variants.
- UV invisible ink: invisible to the naked eye and visible only under UV light, this option is ideal for security details such as codes or serial numbers, or for creative graphic effects. It is particularly suitable for wine, food and beverage, and cosmetics. Avoid dark backgrounds and do not cover the UV invisible ink with lamination or other finishes. Production time for this option is 120 hours.

Food packaging labels - formats
There are several predefined formats for your printed food labels, including circular, square, oval and rectangular options, as well as special shapes such as scalloped or seal styles. Pixartprinting always aims to offer as many ways as possible for you to personalise our products, therefore, you can also customise the shape yourself and enter your preferred dimensions for custom food labels. Download the Instructions file that you will find in step 3 for details on creating the cut path and download the custom template with your chosen dimensions.
If you are looking for other shape-specific solutions, you can also discover our round labels, rectangular labels, oval labels and shaped labels.
Special finishes for food packaging labels
Depending on which material you choose, you may have the option to add a special finish. With the self-adhesive plastics, you can choose to add a selective varnish, gold foil or silver foil to enhance specific details on your stickers for food packaging. Plus, you can also add an additional finish to protect your custom food labels, such as anti-scratch varnish, which provides resistance to scratches and helps preserve the appearance of the print, or a gloss or matt lamination to enhance the details and reduce the fading of colours over time.
To give your labels an even more premium, professional look, you can also evaluate solutions similar to those available in our special finish labels range. Among the most appreciated effects are:
- 3D varnish: creates a raised effect on selected printed areas, drawing attention to logos, names or decorative elements.
- Gold foil: adds a shiny, sophisticated effect that is perfect for premium food packaging.
- Silver foil: ideal for a refined, modern result that is more understated than gold.
With some of the self-adhesive papers, special finishes are not available, so please bear that in mind when selecting a material.
Food labels for the front and back of the bottle
With Pixartprinting, you can print food labels to apply to both the front and back of your bottle in the same order. Choose the machine application method and front-and-back printing to print the second label on the same side of the roll, aligned freely at the top, centre or bottom. You will receive the same quantity ordered for both the front and back labels, all on the same roll.
Alternatively, if you need to label bottles with different designs, choose the hand application method and select the Multi-artwork option to set different variants, which you will receive each on a separate roll. This solution is particularly useful for product assortments, tasting lines and seasonal collections. For related applications, you can also explore our wine and spirit labels, beer labels and oil labels.
Ordering food packaging labels
Pixartprinting makes it easy to order food labels printing online. The order form is intuitive and updates automatically as you make your selections to show you the prices and delivery dates that are available. There are also Templates and Instructions files to download to help you make sure that your artwork is set up correctly for printing.
You can upload a ready-made PDF directly to the website and proceed with professional printing of your food packaging labels. Our file-check system helps ensure print quality and a flawless final result. If you do not have a print-ready design, you can use Designer, our free online editor, to create your labels quickly and easily using customisable templates.
For customised formats and die-cuts, you need to provide a file with two separate layers: one for the design and one for the cutting line. When using selective white, you also need to provide a file with one layer for the design and one to indicate the areas where the white should be applied. When using a transparent material, selecting selective white is recommended to ensure optimal graphic results.
Various delivery dates are available for printed food labels at different prices, so if you are not in a rush, you can benefit from lower prices. But don’t worry, faster shipping is available if your budget allows. You will receive your new food labels directly at your office with on-time delivery, and if you have any questions or special requests, you can always rely on our customer support team.
What to write on your food packaging labels
When creating a food packaging label, it is essential to comply with current regulations. Mandatory information can include:
- Name of the product
- Ingredients list
- Highlighted allergens
- Net quantity
- Best before date or minimum shelf life
- Name and address of the manufacturer or distributor
- Country of origin, where required
- Storage and/or usage instructions
In addition to the mandatory details, you can add your logo, eye-catching graphics and promotional text to make your food packaging labels even more effective and recognisable.
How to apply your food packaging labels
Applying your new food packaging labels can be done manually or with a machine. Roll format is ideal for both methods. If you have an automatic labeller, you can customise the roll on this page to suit your production process. If you will be applying them manually, here are some useful tips:
- Thoroughly clean the surface from dirt and residues.
- Peel the label from the backing and hold it by the edges with your hands.
- Align the label with the edge of the packaging and apply it, pressing from the centre outwards to prevent air bubbles from forming.
- Then use a ruler or a plastic card to smooth over the label, removing any remaining bubbles.
Products to complement your food packaging labels
Not only does Pixartprinting offer food labels printing, you can also create your own food packaging: take a look at our packaging sections, particularly food packaging. In addition to food packaging labels, you can also create complementary products such as packaging labels, tamper-proof seals, or other customised solutions from our custom stickers collection.
Alternatively, if you want to attract customers to your shop or business, our outdoor display items are perfect for the job.
