How to Print Mailing Labels

To print custom mailing labels with Pixartprinting, all it takes is a few clicks and a bit of creativity:

  1. Select the configuration options that suit your needs: format, dimensions, material, and any special finishes. For mailing labels, the minimum printable area is 1x1 cm, while the maximum printable area is 30x30 cm. The predefined format is rectangular, but you can also choose a custom format if required.
  2. Download the Template and Instructions from our graphic designers' page. These will assist you in setting up your print file correctly. If you don't have a print file yet, you can create a new design using Designer, our free online editor.
  3. Place your order and upload your print file to complete the purchase.

You can also customise the technical features of your mailing labels according to your application needs. Output direction can be set to 0°, 90°, 180° or -90°, while each label must have at least 0.4 cm of space from the next. Labels can be supplied on one roll 33 cm high, two rolls 16.5 cm high, three rolls 11 cm high or six rolls 5.5 cm high.

The label cutting method is half-cut die, which cuts only the adhesive material and not the backing, making the labels easier to peel off, especially in smaller sizes. Depending on the selected material, you can also choose selective white printing, mirrored printing for transparent materials, and the Multi-artwork option, which allows you to print up to 10 different designs in a single production run.

To protect the print, you can add anti-scratch varnish, matt lamination or gloss lamination. To emphasise specific graphic details, you can also choose special finishes such as 3D varnish, gold foil or silver foil. UV invisible ink is also available for security elements or special graphic effects: it becomes visible only under UV light, should not be used on dark backgrounds, and should not be covered with laminations or other finishes. Production time for this option is 120 hours.

In the case of a custom format and die-cut, you'll need to provide a file with two separate layers: one for the artwork and one for the cut line. When using a transparent material, we recommend selecting selective white to ensure optimal print quality. In this case, you'll need to provide a file with two layers: one for the artwork and one to indicate the areas where white should be applied.

Mailing label materials and finishes

For printing your new mailing labels, you can choose from a wide range of materials. Each type of material has unique properties and can help enhance the appearance and performance of your design depending on how and where the label will be used.

  • Plastic materials: white polypropylene, transparent polypropylene, metallic holographic polypropylene and deluxe silver polypropylene are durable, waterproof and long-lasting, making them suitable for demanding environments and outdoor use.
  • Standard papers: coated paper, uncoated paper and natural white paper are versatile solutions for many shipping and packaging applications.
  • Premium papers: Betulla laid paper, uncoated embossed paper, satin paper, canvas paper, gold paper and black pulp-dyed paper provide more distinctive or refined visual results.

To protect the printing on your labels, surface lamination is recommended whenever possible. Anti-scratch varnish helps protect the surface from scratches and UV rays, while matt and gloss lamination enhance the final appearance. Soft-touch lamination may also be available for a smoother tactile effect.

  • Anti-scratch varnish: protects against scratches and UV rays.
  • Matt lamination: transparent protective film with matte finish.
  • Gloss lamination: transparent protective film with a glossy finish.
  • Soft-touch lamination: transparent protective film with a soft-touch finish, smooth to the touch.
  • 3D varnish: creates a raised effect on printed areas, drawing attention to selected details of the design.
  • Gold foil: adds a shiny, sophisticated metallic effect.
  • Silver foil: gives the label an elegant and modern metallic finish.
