Waterproof Labels

Water, ice, condensation: nothing can ruin them! Waterproof labels ensure your artwork remains clear and never fades when it gets damp. Suitable for beer bottles, shower gel, jam jars, fruit juice and much more. The materials do not degrade even during prolonged exposure to water, so the labels do not become detached or damaged.

Custom Waterproof Labels

Do your labels need to withstand contact with water or ice? If your products are frequently exposed to water, Waterproof Labels are the perfect solution for you. They are made from waterproof paper or polypropylene and can be printed with your designs. Use them to label wine or beer bottles, jam or honey jars, shower gel, and many other products.

Select your preferred customization options, such as material and format, place your order, and upload your print file to complete the purchase. If you're not a design expert, you can rely on our graphic services. Discover them!

Waterproof Labels: Materials

Custom Waterproof Labels can be made from different materials to meet your specific needs. They are all water-resistant and can be printed in high definition. For example, White Waterproof Paper is a pure cellulose paper treated on both sides with a coating that ensures excellent opacity and high resistance in wet and humid conditions. It is the ideal solution for high-quality labels for beverages, wine, and promotional uses.

Available materials for printing waterproof labels include:

  • White Waterproof Paper: a pure cellulose paper treated on both sides with a coating that ensures excellent opacity and high resistance to wet and humid conditions; ideal for high-quality labels for beverages, wine and promotional uses.
  • White polypropylene: glossy white polypropylene with high-transparency permanent acrylic adhesive.
  • Transparent polypropylene: glossy transparent polypropylene with high-transparency permanent acrylic adhesive. Available with reverse printing, useful when the label needs to be viewed from outside a glass surface.
  • Metallic holographic polypropylene: material with a mirror finish and holographic effect that doesn't alter colours and guarantees a high-impact result. Good adhesion and resistance to UV rays, water and oil.
  • Deluxe silver polypropylene: silver metallic polypropylene with high-transparency permanent acrylic adhesive.

Formats for Waterproof Labels

For your new Waterproof Labels, you can choose from our predefined formats or opt for a custom format. Enter the dimensions for width and height, select the output direction, and the distance between the labels on the roll. You will have water-resistant labels tailored to your needs.

You can choose from several predefined formats, including round labels, rectangular labels, square labels, oval labels, square labels with rounded corners, rectangular labels with rounded corners, scalloped labels, seals and double seals. Alternatively, you can choose a custom format by manually entering your preferred width and height measurements. Please note that the minimum printable area is 1 x 1 cm, while the maximum is 30 x 30 cm.

Customise your waterproof labels

In addition to choosing the material and format, you can configure several technical options to suit your packaging and application requirements:

  • Output direction: four options are available: 0°, 90°, 180° and -90°.
  • Mirror printing: a printing method ideal for labels applied in indoor environments on glass surfaces, therefore visible from the outside. It is available for transparent materials.
  • Selective white: applied to specific areas of the substrate. It can be used alone or as a base for printing. In the latter case, the white ink layer will make images and graphics stand out, preventing them from being altered or muted by the base colour of the substrate.
  • Multi-artwork: this option allows you to print up to 10 different designs within a single production run.

Varnishing and lamination

Depending on the material selected, you can also enhance and protect your waterproof labels with lamination and special finishes.

  • Anti-scratch varnish: glossy protective anti-scratch varnish applied to the printed label to protect it from scratches and UV rays.
  • Matte lamination: transparent protective film with a matte finish.
  • Gloss lamination: transparent protective film with a glossy finish.
  • Soft Touch lamination: transparent protective film with a soft-touch finish, soft to the touch.

Regarding special finishes, we offer three different types of effects designed to enhance your project:

  • 3D Varnish: creates a raised effect on printed areas, giving your label a three-dimensional appearance that catches the eye and enhances specific details of your design.
  • Gold Foiling: adds a brilliant and sophisticated effect, ideal for making your logo or product name shine.
  • Silver Foiling: similar to gold foiling, but with a more refined and modern silver effect.

Waterproof Label artwork

Below are some important instructions for correctly creating the graphic file:

  • Colour: all files must be sent in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) with the Fogra 39 colour profile assigned.
  • Resolution: the optimum resolution for print files is 300 ppi.
  • PDF: send your file in PDF format.
  • Margins and bleed: download the template for the product you've purchased; the bleed will already be correctly set at 2 mm from the cut.
  • Additional information: vector paths must be at least 0.25 pt. If you plan to apply special finishes to the path, it must be at least 1 pt.
  • Special finishes: special finishes must be vector-based, set to overprint, positioned on a dedicated Finishing layer, and assigned the Finishing spot colour swatch (0,50,100,0).

For custom sizes and die-cuts, you must provide a file with two separate layers: one for the artwork and one for the cut line. We recommend consulting the detailed instructions available on the product page.

When using a transparent material, we always recommend selecting the selective white option to ensure optimum print quality. When using selective white, you must provide a file with two layers: one for the artwork and one indicating the areas where the white ink should be applied.
