Aluminium printing - technical specifications

There are two types of aluminium available for you to choose from, both of which are 3 mm thick:

• White aluminium
• Brushed aluminium (Eurobond Thompson)

The structure of aluminium material makes your prints robust and weatherproof, so it is ideal for sophisticated outdoor advertising or signage. Both materials last up to three years outdoors and indefinitely indoors. The brushed aluminium also offers a sleek finish making it ideal for elegant decor.

White aluminium panels are made from a combination of aluminium and polyethylene, providing excellent weather resistance and rigidity. Brushed aluminium panels also feature a polyethylene core and are designed to offer a refined surface that is pleasant to the touch and visually striking, making them especially suitable for premium displays and sophisticated setups.

Aluminium is also lightweight, reliable and recyclable. Its antioxidant properties make it a versatile support that can withstand harsh weather conditions and exposure to light, while maintaining excellent print quality over time.

Customising your aluminium signs

Your images or graphics are printed directly onto your choice of aluminium, but the customisation options don’t end there. There are 11 standard sizes to choose from, but you can also select “custom format” and enter your own dimensions to ensure that your sign or print fits your space perfectly. The maximum dimensions for white aluminium are 190 x 290 cm and 145 x 290 cm for brushed aluminium.

You can choose to have your print cut to shape or select square-cut edges, and a scratch-resistant gloss varnish can be added for added shine and protection.

The available predefined formats include the following rectangular sizes: 50 x 70 cm, 70 x 50 cm, 70 x 100 cm, 100 x 70 cm, 100 x 140 cm and 140 x 100 cm. Square formats available are 50 x 50 cm, 70 x 70 cm, 100 x 100 cm, 110 x 110 cm and 140 x 140 cm. You can also enter custom measurements, with supported print sizes ranging from 14 x 14 cm up to 100,000 x 100,000 cm.

For sizes beyond the maximum printable size on a single panel, the design will be divided into multiple parts. The panelisation will maintain equal proportions, but the final subdivision is defined during the production phase.

For 3 mm white aluminium panels, you also have the option to print on both sides of the panel, either with the same image or with two different images, with a maximum print size of 140 x 140 cm.

By choosing the custom shape option, you can request contour cutting, so your aluminium prints are cut precisely along the edges of your graphics. You can also choose to apply a surface varnish to help protect printed images from scratches.

The choice of holes or accessories must take into account the size of the panel. Since not all panel sizes allow the insertion of holes or accessories, compatibility is checked during the quotation phase.

Print your photos on brushed aluminium or white aluminium

Brushed aluminium is produced through a specialised industrial process designed to remove surface irregularities. This gives the material a high-quality finish that is especially suitable for ultra-high-definition prints with excellent durability. Our brushed aluminium panels consist of a printable aluminium surface bonded to a black polyethylene core, making them suitable for prolonged outdoor use while delivering vibrant colours and sharp details.

For brushed aluminium printing, the use of white printing is recommended, as the darker surface of the material can affect colour reproduction. Applying white printing helps achieve more accurate and vibrant colours.

White aluminium panels, also featuring a polyethylene core, guarantee durability of up to 3 years in outdoor environments, while indoor durability is unlimited. They are equally suitable for high-quality printing and can showcase photographs and custom graphics with exceptional clarity.
