Which materials are available with cardboard printing?
With our cardboard sign printing service, there are seven different types of cardboard to choose from. We break them down here but you can click on the material on the order form to find out more.

In addition to these materials, Pixartprinting’s cardboard range also includes other variants designed for specific applications and print results. Each type of cardboard has its own thickness, internal structure and surface characteristics, which affect both durability and the way the material holds the ink.
- Brown 1.8 mm E-flute cardboard: corrugated cardboard with brown kraft paper surfaces that provide good resistance. The natural fibre composition means the colour may vary slightly between batches.
- 2.7 mm B-flute cardboard: white double-coated corrugated cardboard with surfaces designed to provide excellent resistance.
- Brown 2.7 mm B-flute cardboard: corrugated cardboard with brown kraft paper surfaces that offer excellent resistance, with slight colour variations possible depending on the batch.
All cardboard materials are recommended for indoor use. Their durability indoors is indefinite, but they are not recommended for outdoor use.

Cardboard printing with your choice of cut and varnish
The standard cut of our cardboard signs is rectangular with straight edges. However, you are free to define your own shaped cut for different shapes. There is an optional scratch-resistant varnish that you can add to your new cardboard signs to protect the print from scratches, which may be particularly useful if you will be moving and transporting cardboard displays regularly or if you want the sign to last indefinitely.
For cardboard printing, you can choose between a rectangular cut and a custom-shaped cut. The shaped cut follows the path outlined in your uploaded graphic file. To prepare your file correctly, download and consult the instruction file available on the product page.
Accessories for cardboard printing
To hang your new cardboard prints, a range of accessories is available depending on the selected dimensions and product configuration:
- Repositionable sticker kit: removable and repositionable double-sided adhesive that does not require holes in the wall. The kit includes 4 repositionable stickers, each 3.5 mm thick and measuring 2.5 x 2.5 cm.
- Double-sided adhesive hanging kit: an ultra-strong interlocking adhesive system that allows the panel to be attached and removed from the wall. Distance from the wall: 5 mm.
- Adjustable hanging kit: an invisible mounting system ideal for frames, signs or panels, allowing precise alignment with a 45° adjustable tilt. Distance from the wall: 15 mm.
- Adhesive spacer kit: invisible transparent polycarbonate spacers with a silver nickel finish. The kit consists of four elements to be attached to the back of the panel. Distance from the wall: 20 mm.

Cardboard printing: a greener solution for your communication
If your shop or business has decided to take a greener approach, cardboard printing is an excellent way to create signage more sustainably without compromising on print quality or final appearance. Choosing recyclable materials is a concrete way to reduce the environmental impact of your communication and contribute to a more circular use of raw materials.
Cardboard is fully recyclable and represents a smart choice for businesses looking for lower-impact solutions for displays, signs and promotional materials. Always remember to check your local municipality’s guidelines for correct disposal of the material after use.
More ideas for cardboard communication
Corrugated cardboard is a multi-layer material made of two flat outer surfaces and a corrugated paper core, or several bonded corrugated layers. This internal structure is what gives the board its appreciated combination of lightness and strength. Depending on the number of internal layers, corrugated cardboard can be single-flute, double-flute or triple-flute.
Honeycomb cardboard, with its two flat surfaces enclosing a honeycomb core, is particularly suitable for creating signs and even thick furnishings thanks to its rigidity and eco-friendly composition.
Compact pressboard is another thin yet durable option, ideal for indoor signage and posters when both lightness and strength are required.
If you want to create custom cardboard figures and standees rather than more traditional signs, dedicated cut-out solutions may be better suited to your project.
