Foamcore boards are a fantastic choice for large format quality digital prints due to their light weight, rigidity and great printing quality. The different Foamcore signs that Pixartprinting has to offer have different characteristics that lend themselves to various uses, so whether you are looking for a medium for your outdoor advertising or interior decoration, there is a range of options to suit your needs and budget.

Foamcore printing is an ideal solution when you need a highly practical substrate. Made up of two smooth surfaces with an expanded core inside, Foamcore panels are easy to handle and highly durable, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. As a multi-layer substrate produced through the combination of different materials, Foamcore is designed to guarantee lightness, reliability and versatility for a wide range of visual communication projects.

Custom foam board printing - Materials

Our Foamcore boards are 10mm Foamcore panels with PVC-free surfaces and an expanded interior. Foamcore is typically used in art exhibitions, outdoor advertising or home and office decoration and signage, mainly for large applications as they have an excellent printing output, are extremely light and easily wall mounted.

Smart-X is a new material, similar to Foamcore but lighter and more solid. It is ideal for direct digital printing and a popular choice for life-size cut outs or large wall prints, either outdoors or indoors.

Foamcore 5 mm and KAPAtex are the other two materials offered by Pixartprinting. Both are available in 5mm thick sheets and are slightly more affordable versions, providing different printing results. KAPAex prints have vivid colours and are excellent as matt photographic reproductions. KAPAtex is the lightest option so may be a little fragile for certain uses, whilst the other three are ideal if you need something sturdier.

Pixartprinting offers four Foamcore variants:

• Smart-X Foamcore 10 mm: features an expanded polystyrene core protected by a double solid polystyrene surface. It is lightweight yet durable and can last up to two years outdoors. The maximum print size for a single panel is 190 x 290 cm. Supported print dimensions range from 14 x 14 cm up to 100,000 x 100,000 cm.
• Foamcore 10 mm - PVC-free: a lightweight foam panel composed of an expanded polyurethane core and matt plasticised white cardboard surfaces that make it moisture resistant. The maximum print size for a single panel is 147 x 290 cm. Supported print dimensions range from 20 x 20 cm up to 100,000 x 100,000 cm.
• KAPAtex 5 mm: made from lightweight foam with a high-quality polyurethane core. Its textured surface allows for a fabric-like printing effect. The maximum print size is 135 x 290 cm. Supported print dimensions range from 20 x 20 cm up to 100,000 x 100,000 cm.
• Foamcore 5 mm PVC-free: a lightweight foam panel composed of an expanded polyurethane core and matt plasticised white cardboard surfaces that make it moisture resistant. The maximum print size for a single panel is 147 x 290 cm. Supported print dimensions range from 20 x 20 cm up to 100,000 x 100,000 cm.

For all materials, if the maximum single-panel size is exceeded, the panel will be divided into multiple sections during production.

Metal hangers can be included with the Smart-X and Foamcore panels, whilst a scratch-resistant gloss varnish can be added to Smart-X and Foamcore boards.

Foam board sign sizes

All the materials are available in a variety of sizes or can be printed in personalised sizes and shapes. A cut-to-shape option is available for custom shapes, making it an excellent choice for 3D advertising.

Once you have selected your preferred material, you can choose from a range of predefined formats or enter a custom format manually. The available standard sizes include rectangular formats 50 x 70 cm, 70 x 50 cm, 70 x 100 cm, 100 x 70 cm, 100 x 140 cm and 140 x 100 cm, as well as square formats 50 x 50 cm, 70 x 70 cm, 100 x 100 cm, 110 x 110 cm and 140 x 140 cm.

Foam board sign customisation options

Select your preferred cutting method between straight cut and shaped cut. Shaped cutting allows the print perimeter to match the outline of your custom image exactly, making it ideal for creative display solutions and more original visual communication.

You can also choose to apply a protective anti-scratch varnish to the surface of your panel for greater durability. Please note that accessories may vary depending on the intended dimensions, and verification is carried out exclusively during the quotation stage.

Print specifications

Smart-X Foamcore 10 mm, KAPAtex 5 mm and Foamcore 5 mm PVC-free materials are suitable for front-side printing only.

Foamcore 10 mm PVC-free is suitable for double-sided printing, with either identical or different graphics on each side, up to a maximum format of 280 x 130 cm.
